Description:
Books in Japan (和本, wahon or 和装本, wasouhon) have a long history, which begins in the late 8th century AD (768AD-770AD).
In this Japanese bookbinding class we will make the traditional Four-Hole (Yutsome Toji) book, with variations: Kangxi (pictured), Hempleaf and Tortoise-Shell. We will also make an accordion book and an Account Book. (pictured)
Other Information:
The bindery will be open by 9am. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be supplied. There will be a lunch break of 30 minutes. There is a fully equipped kitchen adjacent to the bindery if you wish to bring your lunch, but otherwise there are cafes and markets nearby.
