Do you have a book which is valuable, precious or fragile and desperately needs some protection? A bespoke box is what you need!
In this course you will learn how to make different two clam shell boxes, the first from card and covered in cloth and the second folded from archival corrugated card.
To ensure you are learning the important details, you will have the opportunity to bring two books and make the boxes specifically for these books. The skill of making good boxes is in accurate measurement, so the end rsult is a box which fits the book snugly and closes well.
Nicholas Beckett has worked in book conservation in a major Sydney institution for many years. Prior to this he worked in London at Bookends Bindery making boxes for the British Library Collection.
